Follow your heart
As a child, I only lived for myself and never appreciated people or this wonderful world that we live in. I didn't seem to care about anything, and even threw my trash out of my family's car. I was arrogant, always thinking that the best way to get rid of trash was to throw it out on the street. Then there was something that really changed me in my life.
It started in history class during 9th grade when my arrogance was still overcoming me. It was that day that my high school teacher showed me a video of people throughout the world who made houses out of trash. It made me feel guilty of my actions, and sorrowful at the conditions in which they lived. I felt as if I when I threw trash on the street they would use that to shelter themselves. The thought of it still hurts until this day.
I learned that the greatest way to help someone, is to teach them how to take care of this planet we live in, because its the only one we will ever have.
