After a severe storm blew through my city, trees throughout the city lay toppled. The picturesque town had turned into a labyrinth of fallen tree trunks. I lead my summer gym class around the downtown area and the city park. We gathered littered branches and fallen trunks in large piles so it would be easier for city workers to clean up.
It was great to bring so many high school students together in the same project because there was a true sense of camaraderie when we realized we what living in the same town meant. It meant we had to unify for a collective happiness.
