Never in a million years would I imagine myself so dedicated and responsible as a president and a leader. When my AP Biology teacher wrote the name of the president of the gardening club on the board, I got so happy that for the first time in my life I realized that people believed in me and trusted me and I wasn't she shy girl anymore. That feeling gave me the strength to take risks and to try and make great changes.
When I first saw the garden, I became extremely shocked and sad because there was garbage all over the place and all the plants and flowers were dead and dry. I couldn't believe how mean people could be to the nature surrounding them, the place where they live and the air they breathe.
I decided to do whatever I could to make the garden as beautiful as it was before, so I started by advertising, making flyers, and dedicating all my time to ask people to sign up and for the first time in five years, I finally got sixty people to join the club. Then, I succeeded to get all the garbage out and cut the dead plants by the devoted members' help. We went to the garden every week and planted a beautiful winter garden.
Now that it's winter time and it rains a lot, the garden is so green and viral, it is one of the most beautiful places on our school campus. The members of the club have become great friends and have learned a lot about the environment. My teacher was really proud of me for making these great changes and I am really glad for succeeding to achieve my goal and love to be inspired by people who aim for the great achievements.
