Hello my name is Angellica and I was a part of the SCA program with Johnson control. I love working in the environment and I’ve accomplished more than I could have ever thought. I worked Schlitz Audubon center with a group. We built eighty-eight steps going down for a walk trail to the ocean which was also a beautiful beach. It was a lot of geese, spiders, and also a bunch of garden snakes. There we seen a mom goose and we seen some of her children walking behind her. We waited until the mother goose and all fifteen of her babies to walk through until we continued our passage of building our trail. There was a deer which ran when it noticed that we noticed it. It was one of the best experienced in my entire life. I believe that the area was taking care of because people were more satisfied. We were thanked by a lot of people and children. Just to hear someone say thank you made me feel better than anything that could possibly make me happy. It is important to take care of this area because there are a lot of children and family members that have and will keep coming here and the eighty-eight steps that were built will last for a long time. In our team we also made stops at Washington Park and did some work there. It was great we canoed wood chips barrels of wood chips to the island and made 3 steps and a trail for anyone that wanted to come there and view it. On the island it was very amazing, I saw goose eggs and I also seen centipedes a lot of them. There were huge spiders as well, I remember one got on my shoulders and I put it down gently and let it go back to crawling like it was doing. I seen a lot of flying mosquitoes, fish in the river and a big bird that I’ve never seen before. I feel that everyone got something out of this because we not only worked with our team but we also played with children that was there we canoed them to the island (if it was okay with their parents) and we helped the environment look better. It’s important for this to be trail to be done because we thought it would help little children older elderly people watch their step and instead of stepping on branches and grass and things such as those listed. They can be on a wonderful trail camping, having a picnic or just enjoying some family time. It is important for the projects conducted to be taken care of because one day if after I graduate, get married and have my first child I would want to take them there and show them what I have achieved in my life time. This is something that really makes a difference and it should last. I enjoyed doing this project and I’m pretty sure my team members loved it as well; we want to see our project stay in place for years to come. Lastly I believe that I worked hard on my environment project because the hardest workers was awarded a chance to be on the news with Gus in a garden to talk about what we did and I was 1 of 3 people on the news out of the sixty-three people that was in the program. I am very proud of myself.
