In the first week of December, the Winslow High School chapter of FBLA implemented their project in FBLA GOES GREEN WEEK. The club voted for and approved their project in the previous meeting in November. Led by President Shawna Nelson, the FBLA members met on December 4, 2008 where they decorated the boxes that would serve as bins in the teachers’ classrooms. The project was to set up recycle bins around the school where students could recycle their plastic bottles to solve the problem of thousands of bottles becoming waste each week at Winslow High School as there are no affiliated recycling programs. Regulated by the FBLA members, the plastic bottle recycling program has received phenomenal response and will hopefully become a permanent project for the rest of the academic school year.
