My family spent Spring Break 2008 cleaning a section of Briar Creek. We work with Mecklenburg County Park and Rec as Park Ambassadors and we have adopted the Briar Creek Park to keep clean. Instead of driving, we decided to save gas and get some exercise by walking to the creek inside the Methodist Home Park. Our rescued puppy, CC, came along. It was very disturbing to see how many water bottles had been thrown into the water when there were trash cans so close. That large object that my mom is holding is part of a basketball goal that we dragged from the water!
