During the summer a fellow classmate and I decided to better our environment by cleaning our disgusting canals in Miami Fl. My classmate and I walked up and down parts of the canals that were accessible to us and also used canoes to get to the inaccessible parts of the canals. We cleaned up massive amounts of debris ranging from bottles to assortments of plastics and rubbers including tires and wrappers. At the end of summer we must have done at least thirty five hours of intensive trash cleanup, filling up heaps of garbage bags with trash. Some parts of the canals had a disgustingly immense amount of garbage usually at the part of the canals where the dams were located. Although our project was trash oriented we were able to view some magnificent Florida wildlife such as iguanas, an array of birds such as egrets, and fish such as barracuda and snook.
Earth is our prized possession and we need to take extremely good care of it. People need to be more aware of the environment and more respectful to the environment by not littering. This is everyone’s dream but no matter what people are to disrespectful and are going to litter, so instead local cleanup crews should be established to constantly clean as we did during the summer. After the cleanup we did I feel much better about the work people do to try and preserve our wildlife and earth because everyone makes a difference. The world is very polluted and it’s imperative that we take care of it, so any help is good.
