I am working on a trail mitigation project for McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, which helps relieve the damage of road scars while keeping out hikers, bikers, motorists, and equestrian riders to prevent further damage to the ecosystem. In this photo, I am demonstrating to a new volunteer how I can use the flat part of my pick-ax to push dirt back into the hole so that the cactus’ thorns do not prick us.
