The students of Helix Charter High School recycled bottles and cans starting on Global Youth Service Day and continuing for the following week. Our high school previously had no recycling program, leaving our trash cans and even fields full of recyclable materials. Our Students Against Destructive Decisions Club took on this project not only to create student awareness of the damaging waste but also to better the community and planet. Our club is aware of the terrible repercussions of not recycling and we know that if everyone contributes to the recycling effort, the waste problem can be eliminated. We want to see a significant difference in our landfills, natural resources, and environment.
