My biggest achievement is my Eagle Scout Rank for Boy Scouts. I completed a service project
for our El Cerrito Parks and Recreation Department as my Eagle Project, that took 350 hours to
complete. This included designing a retaining wall and bench structure for Tassajara Park in El
Cerrito. I did the project design, drafting, report with step by step plans that could be executed
by any scout in our troop. I worked with the city, professionals, adults and scouts to execute
the plans. This included a detailed layout of materials and timeline for the project. I also spent
11 years in scouting. In leadership, I was the patrol leader of about 6 scouts and helped them
advance in rank within scouting. I was elected by the troop as Senior Patrol Leader my last
year, which is responsible for running the troop. Leadership positions are also a requirement
of advancement in Boy Scouting, as well as community service. Six months of leadership is
required for the last ranks, in addition to community service hours for each rank. The final Eagle
Project gave me tons of opportunity and experience in leadership skills. It helped me earn the
rank of Eagle Scout which was many years of dedication.
