One fun thing I did this summer was the wilderness project. I loved working in the wilderness project. I learned so many things because I was part of the wilderness project. In the wilderness project we helped the ocean by picking up trash in the ocean and in parks. I learned a lot of things. One of them is not to throw trash on the ground because it will go to the ocean. Another is to give time to the earth. I learned that cleaning the earth is good, but it is dirty and that is bad. I learned that we are so small and can make a big problem for the biggest oceans. I also learned that we could make a big difference too.

I learned about native species and invasive species. I got to learn about different plants, like the ice plant, which are destroying other plants. Ice plant is a very bad plant because it kills many native animals and native plants. I pulled out ice plant when we went to Marina State Beach. I took out very small ice plants and very big ones. I got to pull ice plants and help the plants that are in danger. I like pulling out the ice plants and helping the ones that are pushing to survive. There are many endangered species of native animals and plants. One of them is the snowy plover, a small white chick. Another one is a white butterfly. Both of their enemies is the ice plant.

Also, I learned about pollution. When you pollute, you throw trash in your city and into the ocean. This summer I collected trash from beaches and rivers. I cleaned beaches and I think it was a great experience. At the beach, we have been doing everything we can to help the ocean. I learned that there is a lot of garbage in the world and many animals are in danger because of trash in their habitat.

Another thing we can do is talk to other people and encourage them to make the world a better place to live. One way is by recycling and another is by helping endangered animals. I would like to also go in the streets and pick up more trash., and also go to other oceans and help animals there. We could mount cameras all over the ocean and beaches to find people that throw trash there. We could also tell people to help us have a healthier ocean. We can also help at home by recycling. More things we could do are not pollute and so many things. We need to keep our ocean clean. We can show other people things we did and what we learned so they can clean up rivers like we did.

I liked that we helped endangered animals and helped save the world. What I liked about this project was helping others and learning new things. I also liked going to different places. Most of all I liked the adventure.
