Nicodemus Wilderness Project -- Global Registry of Apprentice Ecologists

Hi my name is Jasmine. I am 17 years old. I am a senior and I attend Stephenson High School. And at my home, I recycle and collect boxes. When I first learned about recycling I told myself I'm going to try it. I am the first one in my house to start my family into recycling things around our home. Me and my family recycle boxes the whole summer. Every morning gas stations and other companies put out boxes for us to get. Until one day after me and my family got done collecting boxes and we decided to go to the pool and my brother was drowning in the pool and we had to rush him to the hospital(he's okay now). The funny thing about this when he got out the hospital he wanted to recycle. I think recycling help my family get even closer than we were.The reason why I decided to choose this project is because I like to recycle and help the environment.How I conduct my area is my home and around my neighborhood. We pick up paper, boxes, plastic bottles, containers, and etc.. around our neighborhood. We even inspire some of the people in our neighborhood to help us recycle. The accomplishment that I have made was getting myself involve and not just myself but the people around me in my neighborhood and home. It's important for us to keep the environment clean because without a clean environment we will die. It's not about us just saving the world it's about us giving back to nature as it was gave to us. When I look back at how I use to just liter and didn't care about the world I felt very guilty of killing my own environment. My community benefits me into caring about my neighborhood and how I treat it. My project has impact me in some many was into caring how I live. It inspire me to love the environment more and how I react to it. In the future I hope to start a nonprofit organization into getting everyone involve. I love doing what I do best and that's help the earth to become a cleaner environment!
