I did not want to just sign my name and say I was a part of something great; I wanted to be the one who started that little piece of hope and that is why a classmate and I began a club named Lion Corps. This club was founded for one purpose and that purpose was to make the community around us a better place for those in the future. The club also lets students volunteer in improving the community. We often do alley clean ups, paint over graffiti, and volunteer at shelters. We have done a canned food drive recently and also fund raised for different organizations like World Vision, which lets us help those who are suffering from poverty and injustices around the world. I am proud to say I am founder and President of Lion Corps and even if I graduate the upcoming year I know this the beginning of a legacy.
In this particular event, about 50 members of Lion Corps all contributed to an alley clean up, which was infested with trash everywhere. From dirty diapers to old market carts, everyone in the community would throw their trash in this alley. We all decided to clean this alley in order to beautify our community one step at the time.
