Current reality

Becoming eco-friendly is not as easy as it sounds, but there are uncountable methods to actually becoming environmentally friendly. The current reality of my personal situation when relating it to the environment would be the fact that I hardly recycle. My situation is very severe to the environment and harming in many ways possible. This affects me strongly because of the amount of trash I dispose, and not recycling that is needed to be recycled. I am willing to do as much for the environment and help it in many ways possible.
The environmental issues are the amount of trash being disposed and how that’s damaging to the environment. The environment that I am currently living in is somewhat clean at a local level, but it isn’t the best environment either. The environment is needed to be at a sustained level, and it hasn’t reached that point yet. I think that in my environment the only way for it to be sustained is if the community was aware of what’s happening to the environment. That is where I come in and enlighten the people in my community to reuse, reduce, and recycle!
The way I will overcome my environmental issue would be first to reduce, reuse, and recycle. When I do these specific things to help my community I would feel better about the environmental and that I helped clean this environment. A few of some short term goals of sustaining the environment would be; not running the water continuously while dish washing, install water saving devices on faucets and toilets, use recycled paper, and turning off washing machines water to prevent leaks.
Also, I am prepared to do what it takes to improve my community and my environment, and I will gather a group of friends who are willing to improve their communities too. For example, I took my words into action and I gathered a large group of friends and we picked up trash in specific places that are needed at least two days a week for every month, also planted trees occasionally, and placed mulch around each tree. This way it can benefit the community and the environment, and hopefully I’ll continue this for the whole year.
The next week I did these steps over but expanded a couple of things. For example, I passed out flyers to my neighbors and other districts about reduce, reuse, and recycle. So that way they can have a better understanding of what is happening and what we need to do to help the environment. Then in the next couple of days many people responded to this flyer in action such as finally using there recycling bins and trying to conserve on energy and water (those details were also mentioned in the flyer).
The places I started to clean up first were around my neighborhood, and I also told a few friends to come and clean up with me too. The first thing I did was pick up trash around the sidewalks, streets, and near buildings. The next thing my friends and I did was we went to an area that needed mulch around the trees, and so we provided fresh mulch to every single tree and placed on top of the soil of each tree. We also alternated neighborhoods between my friends and me, so that it can benefit not just one neighborhood but many. After I was done with this project I felt exceptionally accomplished and eager to start on the next. Additionally, it’s important to clean up near my neighborhood because I need to start on the smaller things in my area then go on to bigger and better projects.
The project that I demonstrated in my community was for the better and beneficiary of my neighborhood. For example, reducing the amount of trash and especially recycling what is needed like plastics, batteries, and paper products. Another method would be to confine to as small an area as possible, also covering the trash in the soil so it can be decomposed by ground animals. Also, recognizing these problems would be to improve methods such as cost reduction, a more organized compliance facility, improving efficiency, and most importantly happier neighbors.
The progress of my improvement plan will hopefully benefit the environment greatly. The progress is that I made a two week plan/journal on my environmental escapades. The first couple of days I called the village and told them that my whole community should all have recycling bins and should be passed out immediately. Then on the fourth day I gathered a group of friends and we picked up any trash in our neighborhoods and other neighborhoods too, and planted trees around random areas in the neighborhood, and we put mulch around each tree to keep everything looking alive and beautiful.
My reflection on this project made me realize how important it is to recycle and reducing the consumption that is being used quite a lot. Also, the improvement project is still being worked on and hopefully will be continued in the future and I will still be recycling and doing my part as a good citizen. My outlook on the world did change greatly, and now I have a better view on what to do in the future and how I can implement it now and pass it on to people who are clueless about what is happening to the environment.
