There is a group of people that we ride with just about every Sunday, even in the winter if it's not too cold, and we all love the outdoors. The lake was putting on a lakeshore cleanup day for around the lake. I talked to some of the fish and wild life people and they said that they wouldn't be taking people out on the trails to cleanup, just around the lakeshore. So I asked if it would be okay if our group didn't mind to take a few groups of people out to cleanup the trails. They said that it was okay and so I set to work on making flyers to put up around town asking people if they would help us on the trails.
We had a whole slew of people show up that day, and even hit every trail at the state park and even had a good 'ol cookout after it was all over with. Donations were accepted and any of the proceeds went to the Green River Riding stables to help keep the trails cleaned up.
