On Monday the 21st of July, 08 I took a class called
Impact. We took a hike down to the Mississippi river.
We pick up a lot of garbage and found some interesting stuff. We found what seemed like a gazillion cigarette butt’s. We also think we found the packs they were in. we found fishing ling and bobbers. There was one area were there were sticks that had been noted together. In the mess of it we found bottles and broken glass. It was a mess.

One of the kids named Wilson found at least 10 lighters 2 of which still had fuel. As we walked down aways we came upon an area were if you walked in there wrong area the ground would sink at your feet. We spent a long time working at that one area but it was worth it and it was definitely cleaner. We also found a sock, a shoe, and a very smelly shirt. I also found a radio floating in the water. Our guess is that a man in his boat by Elk River and he heard his most unfavorite song so he got angry and threw his radio overboard. In the end we picked up 12 bags of trash.
