I did this program for Conservation Corps. of Minnesota. It is a four week program and there is two session. I got selected for session 1 and I have recently applied for wilderness crew and I believe I will get for wilderness crew. What we did was worked on trails by making it easier for people to walk on with trees in the way, got rid of buck thorn, got rid of even more buck thorn, built a bridge and then dig through gravel for rocks so the end of the bridge would stop erosion, It is mult. projects but all title under one. We would take the rocks and throw it under the bridge. In the trials, we would get out loopers and hand saws and walk were we can see it needs to be trimmed. One time we were out in the middle of the trials and it was this huge storm coming and we were lost so it was fun trying to get away from it and find the van in time also we could not run with tools so that made it even more fun. When we were getting rid of buck thorn, we had to saw it out and we were going to fast that we had to go to an area where it was like an house made out of clay or something but it looks like an trading post or something like that. We did 30 hours of learning about environmental things to video games to school related stuff. We slept in tents for about 3 1/2 weeks and spend 4 days in cabins which was when the fourth of july, when we were leaving and when we came on the beginning. Before I came here I was all ready and I saw it as a summer camp with work to it and in my mind it is a summer camp. I think it was fun to be in the wilderness for four weeks because we got to build leadership, membership, character-ism, and so much more. We were under a budget and my leader loved DQ so on our lasts days we went to DQ and we are planning on going again.
