I love creating a healthy environment for me and others to live in. Since I love the outdoors, I choose to do an Apprentice Ecologist Project. My project was to assist my elderly grandma clean her natural area. My grandma has a huge front and back yard. It was covered with a whole lot of leaves that had fallen. My grandma will start keeping the environment clean. I accomplish teaching my grandparents how to recycle, collect trash and, rake their yard. My granddad never does things to help the environment until I showed him how easy it was. Taking care of your environment will reduce waste and chemicals in the air. By raking your yards will look better. When you recycle there are a lot of things to remake or reuse. One small change by helping out could change the environment. My project benefits the community in so many ways. To make the earth a better place raking, recycling, and collecting will help get the job done. Since my grandparents are older they have to do simple or easy jobs to help out. My role as a youth is to get everyone to make changes every day. My grandparents have three trash cans outside so no one will put trash in the yard. This is an amazing solution because most people like to litter. On the weekend we went to Wal-Mart to purchase rakes so we can clean up the leaves out the yard. Bought trash bags to collect all the waste. Last but not least we got bins to put the recycled cans or bottles in. Everyone helped out by getting assigned jobs to do. When someone drinks a bottle of water they can recycle it in the recycle bins. My goals were to assist my grandparents with helping the environment. If it feels good we all sit outside to enjoy the fresh air. Now my grandparents can tell others about my project I accomplish so they can make the world a better and safe place. I use to not care about whether the environment was safe or not until one day I made a change. I learned by making that change can create a big difference so I started being conducted to the earth.
