This project enables you to convert waste paper and into useful and valuable products like your own stationery, certificates, gifts and exciting paper products like lamp shades, bins, pencil holders and anything that your imagination can create. This is a non –polluting method and saves our precious forests from being chopped down. It is a perfect project to show that your school promotes paper recycling and thus supports sustainable development.

Raw material like used paper (can be obtained from library, accounts department, computer section, art classes and all other classes). Most of us are hopefully selling our old note books to the waste paper mart which is an excellent practice. Remember here the objective is not to stop selling them to the waste paper mart and divert the paper to the recycling. But the idea is to collect the paper thrown away in the dustbins and recycle it.

Find out the approximate amount of paper waste generated each day from your school. You may have to undertake a waste paper audit for this.
Look for a site where the machinery can be installed.
Discuss the project, the costs, the method and the benefits of the Project within the Nature Club and then with the Principal for her /his consent.
Instruct the person clearing the dustbins to collect the paper at one place and not dump it in the Municipal bin.
Create awareness about this project in the entire school and request every body to throw the waste accordingly.
Procure the machinery and train teachers, students and others staff to operate the machinery.
Get hand made, recycled paper every week or every day.
