Good morning. My name is Cheyenne and I am eight years old. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am sending this to you from my Mom's computer and she is helping me with the typing. We went to Orange Beach last week and were very upset to see all the litter on the pretty beach. Mostly it was beer cans and water bottles. But I also picked up an old float and a long black rubber hose maybe from a boat. Me and Mom found fishing line tangled up in some seaweed too. There was also a lot of cigarette butts, yuck! All of these things can hurt ocean and beach animals. When other people saw me picking up the litter and throwing it away, they thanked me. I even saw them make their children pick up some trash. I guess it caught on. Here is my picture. It is not very good since the sun was in my eyes. I am going to keep on picking up litter when I see it in order to save the earth and it's animals. I am working hard to get my black belt in Karate and will being testing for it later on in August. A part of my black belt portfolio involves community service. Even though I have completed my community service requirements, my Mom thought that picking up litter while we were vacationing at the beach would be nice to include in my book. I was happy to do it even if it doesn't go in my book. I like helping the earth. Thank you.
