After the typhoon "ondoy" a killer flood attacked our place that reached until the rooftop of the houses here in Rodriguez, Rizal,Philippine. The Kasiglahan Village "a happy City" in deeper meaning became a mountain of garbage. Many houses were destructed, there was a severe famine, water shortage, different deceases arouse and the worse of all...many lives were lost.
I came to realize the real cause of it! The improper disposal of garbages and illegal logging. Every time I look around the scenario make my heart cry, awaking my burden and passion for my own land. Who must be blamed? No one else but the residence...
But there is still hope! And it's me. The change must begin in my life, my decision...
I made up my mind! I started cleaning our backyard.
It's great! NO more regret! it made my heart happier even more.
As a youth leader in our church, I encourage our youth to have a clean-up green-up mission in our area. It was done successfully. We also taught in our Sunday school kids about caring our mother earth...the means...the advantage it and disadvantage of misusing it.
Let's stop pointing our fingers to others, let's check ourselves first and ask, what can i do? how can i help? Did I do something? Can I make a change?
All the best thing that we are wishing for...must start in OURSELF...and best day to start is NOW!
