For my photo essay, I started a recycling program at my church’s youth group facility. In the past year I noticed how much recyclable material we were tossing into trash bins and sending to landfills. After conducting extensive research on the topic of recycling, I decided to take action! I met with my youth leader to discuss possible recycling program ideas, and after only two meetings recycling bins were placed throughout the building. I volunteer my time every Sunday afternoon to collect all the recycling from the bins and sort the different items. All of the youth is excited to be able to now have the option to recycle, and my youth leader says that this is definitely something they will continue!
