ESSAY ON NATURE CLEAN-UP ACTIVITY

* The place where I conducted my nature cleanup activity and the kind of litters I pick up

DELHI Yamuna a river turned sewage carrying drain had got to be place I conducted my clean-up activity. Pet and stray animals like cows and dogs I got to see along the river side. I started picking up litters along the river. But soon beholding the great mess of garbage in the river I stepped into the river. Plastic poly bags of all category, pieces of broken glasses, synthetic cloths, GODS and GODDESS idols and bunches of garlands left in river after worship etc. were all that I took out of river. For couple of hours I kept doing all that. The exact amount of litters can not be guess out since it was not weigh never the less it was not less than 8 kg or so.

* I felt..

As I grow up I find myself in emotional and spiritual bond with nature. In ancient India Nature was immensely worshiped in form of divine power. Gradually the traditions get vanishing with the development of societies. And in this ‘KALYUG’ (modern era) nature is hit and hurt worst. Counter effect of torturing the nature are surfacing almost in all parts of world putting a question mark before human existence.

Of late I know Nicodemus Wilderness Project. I made up my mind to do Apprentice Ecologist Project the very next moment I came to know about it.

* My recommendations are…

If the world is looking for permanent solution we must stop using plastic poly bags. Contribution of plastic made products in making this world a planet of garbage is 90%. It is most hazardous man made product, nature can barely digest.

95% of litters I picked up from the river were nothing but plastic poly bags. Plastic is NIV (nature immune deficiency virus) for earth environment. It is threatening earth similar as HIV is to human health. Both can not be cured but cared. HIV is acquired but NIV is being created. The watch dogs are blind. The world is wide eye shut. In deed we have been deceiving ourselves for which we have to pay heavily in coming time, a toll beyond our calculation. Permanent solution merely needs distance from plastic made products.

* The importance of the place

Yamuna has been lifeline for Delhi ties. Its water is supplied to residents after treatment. The more dirty it is made the more difficult it would be to retreat the water. Animals that drink water would fall ill. Since long the river has been missing the movement of Fish. The very few species of fish are too poisonous to eat. People who take bath and drink the culminated water would surely suffer from fatal health problems.

* My feelings are…

To me it seems I have removed a great burden put on my soul by doing APPRENTICE ECOLOGIST PROJECT. Despite wanting I could not do my bit for nature which is so meaningfully mentionable. I found my self on in sky of delight. I have been practicing eco-friendly life style ever since I realized the suffering nature ache. So far I have made a great distance form plastic and bound to avoid it entirely off from my life. One can easily perceive my feelings and the joy I got after having done APPRENTICE ECOLOGIST PROJECT. It is so satisfactory and unique that expression goes beyond explanation.

I appreciate your work for the environment.
If we can't save our environment our new generations (human, animal and all living things) will have a hard time surviving on Earth.
