My name is Cori and I'm a Senior at John B. Alexander High School. Ever since I in the 2nd grade I've been volunteering at a local science center and I have completely fallen in love with the environment and plan to turn my passion into a career in the near future. In this photo I (second from the right) and some friends are at a local park clean up that I was able to help organize. With the help from Keep Laredo Beautiful and a local Girl Scout Troop this clean up day came together perfectly. We not only picked up trash at the park and surrounding areas we also planted trees, grass, and plants at both entrances of the park. Community members that lived in this area were also very pleased to see what was going on and joined in too. This clean up was one of the few that I have attended but was the first that I have helped planned but will not be the last.
