Hi. My name is Yunho and I am a freshman in University of Missouri Saint Louis. Recently, I have traveled to Washington DC to have fun and experience our country's capital. Experiences were amazing: I learned so much in White House, US Congress, National Monument and more. When I visited Lincoln Memorial, it was quiet a surprise to see trash and foods that are thrown away on the ground and the waterway because I just didn't think that people would litter in such a famous and meaningful place. I talked to one of the security guys and asked him why there are so much trash on the ground and he said that Lincoln Memorial is always crowded with tourists and some of the tourists litter. I started to pick up trash by little amount but there were so much. So I ended up spending about 2 hours picking up trash around Lincoln Memorial and its waterway and asked my friend to take a picture of me because I felt good and I was going to upload the pictures in Facebook. However, I found out about the scholarship opportunity less than a week before the deadline! So I decided to participate in this project just to give it a shot. Thank you.
