We students at Suncoast High School had to do a project for government and we decided to clean the beach. When we arrived at the beach, it was very filthy with trash. For example, juice boxes, empty bag of chips, soda cans, and even clothing in the sand. As we were cleaning up we found a lot of jelly fishes that were washed up to the sand and we actually found a set of shells of an animal I don't know of (but I took a picture). Since there were 20 people, we set up in groups of 2 or 4, and each group picked up at least 2 lbs. of trash. And to accomplish that was amazing because we are ordinary students that thought it would be nice to clean the beach. I mean who would like to go to a filthy beach with items that could possibly stop them from enjoying the beach. After the clean up, the group decided to make signs out of wood so people who come to the beach could read and think twice about littering on the beach. We decided to make signs that read: Keep our beach clean, Be nice and think of the animals; Pick after yourself, and Make a difference in your beach, keep it clean. I believe it is very important to keep the beach clean because it is one of the most relaxing places too have fun. Also, the cleaner the beach the more people come, and that could possibly mean a source of business. After the project was completed, I felt very good about myself because I know every little thing that I do can help make a big difference tomorrow.
