As a junior, I continued my quest for change by joining Net Impact at Central Texas College. The organization's mission aligns perfectly with my goals of inspiring and equipping emerging leaders to build a more just and sustainable world. Taking on the role of project manager for the Circular Plastics project, I sought to create a sustainable and effective product. To raise awareness about recycling and sustainability, I organized a recycling art contest where students crafted functional prototypes using recycled materials. Over 100 students and staff attended the presentation I gave on recycling practices, bringing like-minded individuals together. We even had expert judges from business, environment, and agriculture-related fields determine the winners. One of the notable ideas presented was using braided plastic bags to create a more durable product.
