This project removed the old boardwalk and installed new path and boardwalk at Rancocas Nature Center(RNC) in the New Jersey Rancocas State Park. A large range of volunteers came from Rancocas, while the Outdoor Service Club supplied tools and labor to help in the construction of the boardwalk. It took three weekends, but being able to replace the boardwalk keeps the trail both wheelchair accessible and safe for use, as it runs along a swamp and floodplain. The project required a large amount of technical knowledge, as we frequently ran into issues with tree roots, leveling, warped lumber, and the sheer difficulty of transporting hundreds of feet worth of decking. It was built in sections, with all wood and TREX board cut on-site, in order to lower the cost.
