Here in Norway, we try our best to look after nature and take care of it. Students in Grade 1 and their teachers showed interest in picking up trash in our local forest where we carry out our forest learning in connection with our school curriculum.

We are currently learning about the community and we thought what better way to do that then by getting out and have our hands on activity. From all of the environmental projects that we have been doing in our school, this is by far my favorite. We started our Forest School Lesson with a discussion about nature, the environment, and its importance. The children enjoyed the lesson as it was designed by using an I-spy game instead of just picking up trash which motivated the students while making them more aware of their environment. Students at AIS were driven by this activity and were engaged and willing to do their part in supporting the local community.

Our school motto is: You are never too young to take action!

Best wishes from,
