For the past four years I have arranged an annual cleanup of my road. My family, and some of my neighbors all go out and clean up the trash and recycling that people leave on the sides of the road. Last year we gathered about one hundred pounds of trash and recycling which we then put in a dumpster and took to a recycling center. I believe that this is a very important project, especially for my younger siblings because it helps them to learn about how to take care of the earth in a way that is particularly relevant to them. It helps them to learn that we need to care for the earth not only because it is messy and no-one likes liquor bottles alongside the road, but also because if we don't then our world will eventually not be worth living in at all.
