This project was planned and executed by me in order to obtain the Eagle Scout award with the Boy Scouts of America. Originally planned as a three-month process, this project was expanded, and with obstacles facing its completion, it actually took a year and a half to complete.
My church and its accompanying school was the beneficiary for my project. I planed eighteen bushes and nine trees to enhance the property. Then I took three more newly sprouted trees on the property and planted them in a place where they could grow better. I also built five large benches to be placed in various places around the property, some of which offer a lovely view of the new trees and bushes, and some of which offer a quiet place to think among nature. I also extended the school's playground by twenty square feet, and I enclosed a pavilion on the property.
I raised fifteen hundred dollars for the project, three hundred of which was excess and was subsequently donated to the church.
The completed project is now three years old, and all of it is still in very good condition. I couldn't be happier to see my church benefit from these wonderful natural additions!
