It is a pleasure to share our clean-up project at Anheuser Busch Sports Park in Columbus Ohio. It was a wonderful volunteer experience for our family, especially for my daughter: she was just 6 months three days ago. Keeping our environment clean is the responsibility of everyone in the society and I want to let my daughter know that since she is a baby (Although she is too young to know that, I think she will know that later). In addition, my parents, who arrived here for a visit just recently from China, also took part in this project, which make our project full of significance. I would say our project is more international and environment protection is topic of significance all over the world.

We started our trip in the early morning on Sunday. It was beautiful day: cloudy and cool even in the summer. When arrived at the Anheuser Busch Sports Park, we saw some people started to build the tents. I thought there might be some events today. We put on the gloves, carried the trash bags and started to collect the trash—mostly drink bottles, wrap paper, soda cans. While we were collecting trash, my daughter watched us very carefully---it seemed that she was very curious. As we were collecting trash, we saw more and more people drove their car to here. Some people were curious about what we did and some of they came to talk with us. When they knew our project, they were very supportive and commendable. They invited us to join their event---they would have a softball game. We were happy that we had helped improve the environment for people here.

There are lots of parks in Columbus and these parks provide good places for people to relax or exercise during the weekend. I like these places and I feel it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain a good environment. We plan to join more similar volunteer activity and I hope my daughter will enjoy these experiences more when she grows up.
