It was a great experience to participate in cleaning up the local watershed near my college with my fellow students and local adults. The Grand River Clean Up gets the whole community involved to pick up trash along the river banks. Plaster Creek in particular is so polluted that the water is toxic to touch. It was inspirational to see the ramifications of our community's polluting actions and lend a hand in correcting those actions. The picture captures me and my fellow sustainability coordinators. This clean up was the kick off to our year of being student leaders on our campus and in the dorms, inspiring other students to respect the natural environment.
