My crew and I went to the flooding area in Katsina Street in Uyo, where houses were completely submerged by water. These people are currently misplaced, children are not in schools, no food, no shelters or medicine. We offered a little of what we had as relief materials to them, we also told them that the flood occurred because the people of that area have lost respect for natural boundaries. This is because they have engaged in deforestation, drilling of sand from erosion prone areas, escalation of rivers bank for sand and lack of drainage to absorb run-off waters. They promised to learn a big lesson from their problem, and deploy all measures to address their problems by keeping bounds of human and natural environments.
