Kuwait is a small country with many beautiful beaches, some very popular and regularly visited my several people, others beautiful but not very popular hence visited by a few people.

Various companies in Kuwait have appointed people to clean the beaches, but the beaches which are not very popular are ignored. These beaches are visited by a few people everyday that leave behind the waste, which not being cleaned up regularly, keeps on increasing day by day. Whenever we would go out for barbeques, I'd hope to see these beaches clean. So after reading about your project online, I decided to do some cleaning up with help from my dad and uncle. We arrived at the beach at about 6am.We saw people taking an early morning walk, some kids swimming as their parents sit around. The sand was covered with bottles, cans, shopping bags, left over material from barbeques and a lot of other things. It looked like the beach was never cleaned up. We borrowed one of those big garbage cans and a few bags and started cleaning at one end. Some of the people started staring at us with eyes filled with surprise. We picked up all sorts of things. By the time we got half way the sun was bright up in the sky and it started getting tiring. As we got to the other end of the beach, I saw some piece of cloth covered with sand, thinking it was garbage I picked it up and that's when a kid came running out of the water screaming. They were his clothes, so I apologized to him but he looked very angry and ran to call his parents, that's when I thought we should evacuate. So we cleaned it up quickly and being exhausted, took some rest in the garden right next to the beach. We had filled up a big garbage can and three bags full of trash. Standing at the end looking at the beach, it just felt great. The beach looked new, beautiful, clean and a nice place to go sit down and enjoy it. It felt good doing this so as we were leaving, we decided to go to that place for a barbeque and do the cleaning up again sometime.

If the beach was regularly kept clean it would become a much more beautiful and enjoyable. This can be attained by the co-operation between people and the authorities. The people appointed for beach cleaning and the schools which organize beach clean up trips should pay more attention to small areas as they are just as lively and beautiful. The people who visit the beach should not leave behind the waste but keep small bags with them, in which they put all the garbage. This will help keep the beach nice and clean and make Kuwait a much better place to live in.
